Google recently launched Chrome extension to that allows you to receive orkut updates and scrap notifications. 
The popup menu allows you to Quickly jump to a friends’ page, Search on orkut, Visit your Home/scrap/photos pages and share sites on Orkut.
Click here to add this extension , Please not that this extension will work only in Google chrome.
How It Works – when you installed this extension you need to enable this extension by clicking on Setting > Extension and click enable link , once you do that you will start receiving notification of every scrap and update in your chrome browser. Check Screenshots here
