Many orkut user are confused about IM , IM is Instant Messaging that started out as a computer to computer text conversation .
If you use AIM, Google talk, MSN / Windows messenger, Yahoo messenger, or any of several other Instant Messenger products to chat online with your buds, you can put your IM name there.
You can either hide or display that IM name from all of yours friends or from everyone .
All you need is to click edit profile go to contact tab insert your IM name and select yours prefered choice like if you want to display your messenger id to all yours friends then select only my friends for everyone select everyone and if you want to keep your messenger id private then select myself , Save the changes and you are done.
